I am a Systemic Practitioner and Body Psychotherapist: an experiential form of therapy bringing the body into the processing of emotional difficulties. I use my skills as a Biodynamic Massage Therapist to complement this process. Other methods I use in my work include Psychodynamic Counselling, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt and a range of creative techniques.
I am fully registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT).
I have been working with people in a therapeutic capacity for over 10 years, through local authorities, third sector settings and private practice, and have a lot of experience helping individuals and family groups overcome a wide range of difficulties.
My Approach
Experience has taught me that there is no “one size fits all” in therapy and so I draw on different disciplines to offer tailored sessions that best suit your personality, needs and goals. My aim is to provide a holistic package that feels right and allows you to feel involved every step of the way. By encouraging feedback, we can ensure that the sessions feel continually helpful and that we are working in partnership.
I am passionate about my work and believe that psychotherapy can bring about positive and lasting change. To help you to achieve your goals and make the most out of life, I will offer a safe and non-judgmental environment, where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and actions. A body-oriented approach could also help you to tune into your body’s responses to difficulties past and present, as well as unconscious patterns that need resolution.
Areas that I have special interest and experience in include: chronic illness, such as long COVID, chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia, as well as addiction, domestic abuse and relationship breakdown within families.
I also offer parenting support to those wishing to better understand their children’s needs.
My fee is £75 per session.
